Stacy has a great passion for solo performing
and comedy. She is the curator of Emerging Artist’s Theatre’s One
Woman Standing Festival (OWS). “The Funeralogues” is her second solo
show. Her first show, “The Woman with the Parasol” was a physical
comedy created through improvisation and clown exercises with Lecoq
artist, Eric Davis. It ran in 2005 at various venues across New York
including Emerging Artists Theatre, Upright Citizens Brigade and The
People's Improv Theatre. “The Funeralogues” was created in collaboration
with New York playwright, Robert Charles Gompers. It premiered in
April, 2007 at OWS and explores the comedic potential behind funerals
and eulogies through characters, real eulogies and personal anecdotes.
Sincere thanks to Robert Charles Gompers and Tzipora Kaplan who encouraged
her to explore and expand this piece to its fullest potential. http://www.stacymayer.com/funeralogues
